Alongside my tech career, I’ve always carved out time to write because of my enduring belief in the power of stories and their ability to connect people. Since my successful debut memoir, Learning to Love Africa, I’ve returned to the page and am working on several exciting book projects. My second memoir tells the story of building a family and finding belonging across a peripatetic and global tech career, examining the complex issues of international politics, racism, and educational disparities. It delves into the profound human costs and sacrifices associated with failed states, poverty, migration, and the universal yearning for security and a place to call home.

I am also working on a two-book series that spans several generations of an African family, weaving together the intimate and the epic, the personal and the political. From the mines of a colonial African nation to the heart of Silicon Valley, this saga traces one family’s fight against the forces of exploitation, from colonial abuse to neocolonialism, to corporate malfeasance. The story grapples with the enduring legacies of modern empire and the perils and promise of the tech revolution, offering a uniquely African perspective on some of the most pressing themes of our time.
